Granite is the most commonly used type of stone for kitchen counter-tops. It is a natural stone that looks like a typical rock, but with specialized equipment it can be polished and made to shine with a very smooth surface. Edges can also be beveled and made smooth. Granite is well renowned for adding value to a kitchen and strength to the tops. The benefits of using granite for counter-tops is endless. It can resist heat, therefore a hot pot can be rested on top of the granite. There is no pores in granite, thus giving you a natural protection against mold and mildew. There is no requirement to add a sealant to granite, and it is still easy to clean, without the risk of damage by using chemicals on it.

Caesarstone is a man-made stone that also makes very strong and durable counter-tops. It is mostly used as a vanity in the bathroom and as kitchen tops. It is mostly composed of quartz with a small amount of polymer resins and other additives added to give it a distinct color. As granite it also has no pores and is resistant to scratches and stains. To clean caesarstone a non-abrasive cleanser needs to be used and washed of with water after cleaning.

Marble is a metamorphic rock composed of recrystallized carbonate minerals, most commonly calcite or dolomite. It is known for its high price, but is still used due to its beauty. If marble is not properly cared for, it can quickly be stained, and therefor it requires a lot of care and the application of a sealant.
